After the amazing debut event with Ckrono and Ninjinho from Milan, the second installment of Quente Quente presents an all Berlin line up. Yes, the German capital has become more Brazilian in recent years. Formerly hosting a rather small Brazilian community, Berlin has recently attracted countless artists, activists and musicians who now reside at the Spree, making it a hub for their globally minded creative output. Despite the political crisis in right-wing governed Brazil, South America biggest country´s music culture is booming, setting innovative marks in the world´s pop and club music. Berlin´s Brazilian community is in intense dialogue with current developments in the motherland thus creating new forms of music, clubbing and politics. Quente Quente invited two of its most outstanding protagonists.
Perigga is meshing worldwide sounds in well researched and captivating sets filled with heat and bass heavy tracks. She is a Berlin based Brazilian DJ part of No Shade, a training program, club night series and collective of femme, trans and non-binary people based in Berlin.
Another guest for Quente Quente is Da Matta. He is a Brazilian artist, club DJ, percussionist and a crucial filter and curator enabling the ‘now’ sound of Brazil to cross continents through his DJ sets and web radio platform BOSSA FM. Da Matta hosts the monthly Roda de Feijoada events, an important hub for Berlin´s Brazilian community.
