It has been a little quiet around Patrick Watson in the last few years.
His affecting album “Love Songs For Robots” was released in 2015 and had something to offer for everyone, from carefully orchestrated ballads like “Alone In This World” to avant-garde six-minute songs like “Turn Into The Noise”.
Also solo in 2016 there was a classic, wonderfully composed film soundtrack to the bestseller movie “The Ninth Life of Louis Drax”. Also in 2018 two new tracks were released – “Melody Noir” and “Mélancolie” with Safia Nolin.
Patrick Watson’s new album „Wave“, was released on October 18th via Domino Record. His sixth studio album is about being knocked over by a wave so that everything you have in your life can be torn away in a moment. During the creation of the album Patrick lost his mother, his longtime drummer left the band and his relationship ended. It’s a very personal and intimate album – his humblest release yet. After honoring the Haldern Pop Festival in August, he’ll now plays a solo show at Metropol in spring 2020.
