Playing a potent mix of sleazy grunge and power pop perfection, Mozes and the Firstborn hail from The Netherlands. With inspirations varying from Guided by Voices and Beck to Weezer and Nirvana it only made sense that the Californian label Burger Records released their self-titled debut album in 2014. Since then the band has embarked on international tours with The Growlers, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and together Pangea in the United States and Europe.
The past year Mozes and the Firstborn have been recording new tunes for their third full-length album. Embracing the feel of a mixtape, they blend their favorite styles and genres into an intriguing conglomeration of songs.
Father Midnight were born next to an abandoned Späti in a dark slimy street in Berlin. Rising from the underground mush the guys joined the temple of fuzz and dove into the local Berlin garage scene. After a busy year of performing (8mm Bar, Kantine am Berghain) and releasing two EPs, we at Basement Bash are proud have snagged these soon-to-be superstars. If you like the Black Keys, Led Zeppelin and the Hives you’re not going to want to miss this.
These mysterious newcomers to the Berlin indie scene describe themselves as making “trebly indie pop for expired adolescents”. One thing we’re sure of is that they’ll make all your teen dreams come true.
