EMERGE

Sascha Stadlmeier’s project EMERGE has been releasing electroacoustic music since 2001, on labels such as Drone Records, Tâalem and Frozen Light. A composer working at the crossroads of musique concrète, drone, and noise, he has also been an increasingly active presence in the field of free improvisation since 2016. In addition to live electronics, his improvisation practice involves guitar, bass, and amplified objects.

Collaborations with a wide range of musicians and styles form an important part of his work, collaborators include If,Bwana, Doc Wör Mirran and Toy Bizarre. He has toured Europe extensively, with concerts in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia and Bulgaria. His music has been presented at international festivals such as Avantgarde Festival, lab30, 20 years of MGNM, Zasavje Noisefest, Ecological Sound of Varna Fest and Autistic Campaign Fest. While a prolific composer and performer, Stadlmeier has also created various sound installations and a radiophonic composition for West German Radio’s renowned Studio of Acoustic Art. Since 2010, his label attenuation circuit has established itself as an important hub in the international experimental music scene, with releases by more than 100 artists from numerous countries to date. attenuation circuit also regularly organises concerts of experimental music at Stadlmeier’s home base in Augsburg, Germany.

FUKTE

Fukte (pron. Fooktæ) started around 2004 as a solo project of Fabrizio De Bon, noise performer and self-taught experimental musician from Belluno (Italy) who runs the Toxic Industries label that released its first cassette in 2009.

Originally influenced by Japanoise and European industrial/noise scenes of 90’s, Fukte’s style evolved by a continuous research in different fields such as drone, musique concrète and HNW. Fukte’s compositions and live performances are physical and powerful, balanced between interaction and control of unstable sources like self-made instruments, piezoelectric microphone feedbacks, junk stomp boxes and a handmade oscillator. His trademark tracks are the result of alternating collapsing distorted detritus and processed field recordings, drone layers and ethnic plunderphonia.

Most of his discography appeared on Toxic Industries, with other releases and collaborations hosted by labels such as Silent Novels (JP), Zvukovina (BA), Dokuro (IT), Ruido Latino (CO) and Moontone Records (TH).

Fukte has played many live shows across Europe, Asia (Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia), Iran and recently Brazil, and took part in various international festivals such as Zasavje Noisefest International, Varvara, Protesi Acustiche, Radical Tehran.

In recent years Fukte has returned to his original hash noise influences: biting feedback, crushing distortions and visceral drones, carrying the listener into a claustrophobic sound experience.

sound as communication in direct and primal form, a language, a tool of metaphysics, a conscience and a consciousness. works that oppose the omnipresent restriction and reduction of life and living, and activate primordial shared emotions otherwise hidden under the debris of civilisation, inviting rumination, encouraging intervention, endorsing catharsis, liberating. therapeutical stimulation is acknowledged. sonic activism, ritual protest music.

dp might touch on topics such as environmental sensitisation, sentient awareness, animal and human rights and existentialism, but it’s more how these and related sensitivities interconnect that interests him. the hyperconnectivity some call chaos.

dp has worked solo as dave phillips/dp since 1987. part of schimpfluch-gruppe since 1991 (with rudolf eb.er/runzelstirn & gurgelstøck, joke lanz/sudden infant etc.); co-founded ohne in 2000 (with tom smith, daniel löwenbrück, reto mäder), co-founded fear of god in 1987 and has played in numerous other bands, projects and collaborations. born 1969 in switzerland from english and french parents.

dp’s humanimalism is a concept that describes a developed humanoid existence that has overcome the erroneous religious, material and supremacist phases of evolution (recognised as mistakes that anticipate learning processes), acknowledges itself as part of a whole and has grown into an empathic, conscientious & connected creature allowing emotion & instinct their equal part in decision-making, moving beyond the previously dominant one-sided, reductive rational/logical/systematic/male/anthropocentric mindset, and having balanced itself within its environment by retracing an origin, with social and environmental awareness becoming inherent sensual functions.
