Charlie Grant feat. Ivo Vollering

Berlin based singer/songwriter Charlie Grant got his first break in music as a songwriter for hire in London, after landing his first publishing deal with EMI. He got busy writing songs for lots of up and coming talents as well as some bigger names in both Germany and the UK such as former Spice Girl Melanie C, Michael Patrick Kelly, Simply Red, Robert Miles and Leslie Clio, among others.

However, the dream of writing and releasing music as an artist in his own right refused to stay quiet for long and kept pestering him from the back of his mind…so, pulling in favors and forming a new currency based on pints of beer owed to various musician friends and studio owners, Charlie got used to recording in the dead of night and set to work on a set of songs focused on musicianship, storytelling, song craft and an love for 1970’s soft rockers like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bread and Tom Petty.

Charlie’s latest release Astronaut was inspired by becoming a father for the first time, realizing that a child can help you see the world through new eyes and let you regain a sense of wonder and a feeling that the world is full of magic.

The One Day Fly

‘The One Day Fly’ features Berlin-based songwriter ‘Nate Bernardini’ and female lead guitarist ‘Emily Wattison’. They only perform original music – not to annoy their audience but to make more room for local, independent music. Their compositions create a multi-faceted sound ranging between folk, blues, rock, spoken word or whatever best conveys the message. Supported by colorful guitar riffs, danceable rhythms, explosive blues-rock solos on electric guitar and harmonica, their performance takes the listener on a musical rollercoaster ride. Tackling subjects like capitalist exploitation, dancing on moonlit beaches and shopping for love online, their songs paint an ever-changing picture of western society and the complex human condition. In short, ‘The One Day Fly’ aims to make authentically free-spirited music for a fascinatingly self- destructive world.
