Post-punk leaning trio SOVIET SOVIET were born in 2008 on the Adriatic coast of Pesaro, Italy by Alessandro Costantini (vocalist/guitarist), Andrea Giometti (lead vocalist/bassist) and Alessandro Ferri (drums). In 2009, they gained notoriety with a handful of self-released singles and incessant touring. The trio followed up with the Summer, Jesus EP in 2011, growing their reputation for immediate and tightly wound live performances. For the past year, the trio have converted that immediacy from the stage into a proper studio, honing and fine-tuning the production on their debut album, Fate.

N/E PA based THE STARGAZER LILIES are the brainchild of husband and wife team, John Cep and Kim Field, pioneers of shoegaze’s new wave with former band Soundpool. The Stargazer Lilies is the evolution of their gaze, this time with added psych rock elements (think MBV meets Pink Floyd). Cep’s heavy effects-driven guitars are accented by drummer, Tammy Hirata’s minimalist approach, along with Field’s dreamy vocals and drony bass lines. Following their debut album We Are The Dreamers in 2013, their sound was described in Spin Magazine as a “reverb-washed slo-mo assault of Slowdive with the sparkling ambiance of air channeled into a lush, guitar-swollen whole. Psych-fuzz epic.” Pop Matters says, “The Stargazer Lilies possess a truly widescreen, cinematic sound with crescendos that build cascading waves of sound enveloping your whole body. The music is a bit darker than standard dream pop fare, but that only makes it that much more mesmerizing.” Brad Laner of Medicine describes them like this: “This is what your so- called shoegaze is supposed to sound like. Incredible melodies and singing plus great guitar work.”
Door To The Sun, their second full-length, is set to be released in Spring/Summer 2016 on Graveface Records.

THE HISTORY OF COLOUR TV completed work on their 3rd full-length record in May 2016, traveling to France to record with Peter Deimel (The Ex, The Wedding Present, Shellac) at the legendary Black Box studios. Stylistically, the album is a departure from its predecessors’ dreamy, reverb-laden sound signatures. Here the band is heard live and without artifice, a dynamic and open recording with minimal overdubs. The album is a cycle of fractured, ominous narratives – songs haunted by indeterminate characters and small-town wilderness, stories of emotion without release, of things happening because nothing is… And within the songs’ elongated structures and narrative themes, The History Of Colour TV blend their customary melodic sensibilities with noisy echoes of the early American underground. The album is named Something Like Eternity.

Felte released the album November 11, 2013. While post-punk is the easy descriptor, Soviet Soviet’s lens of the genre is much wider, grabbing from coldwave, art punk and more, figuring out a way to make something fresh.
